Coffee Trade Part 1. (Notes, Terms, and Quesions)

Notes:
  • Coffee is the most heavily traded agriculture crop in the world.
  • The United States grows barey any coffee beans because it needs to grow in the tropics. (In Hawaii)
Terms:
Fair Trade Coffee- Is coffee which is purchased directly from the grower or producer in order to help little company often in devoloping countries.
Flavored Coffee- Coffee beans that have been mixed with flavors. (Such as vanilla or chocolate)
Sustainability- Able to grow this crop year after year. If possible without fertilizer or other chemicals.
Organic Coffee- Coffee that has been grown without pesticide and other chemicals.

What is the difference from quality coffee and nonquality coffee? And who decides it?
