Russia and the United States "The enemy of my enemy is my friend"
Even though Russia and the United States were enemies they both fought against the Germans and Japenese. When the war was over Russia had invented the Nuclear bomb just like the Unites States.

Korean War: Russia told and supplied North Korea with weapons and tanks. Everything they needed to invade the South. They fought a unnessicary war that killed alot of people over the boundary line but they ended up basically where they were before.
Since then (when the Korean war "Ended") they signed a cease fire. But technically the war never ended. South Korea
1) The republic of Korea
2) Lee young was elected on Febuary 25th, 2008. He was te CEO of a big engineering firm. He was also elected mayor for the biggest city of South Korea.
3) Japan no longer have control over Korea. America and Russia decided on the 38th parallel.
4) South Korea borders North Korea
5) South Korea is a penisula and right next to North Korea
6) The signifigance of the 38th parallel is what divided the countries in 1945. (Was when the DMZ was put up)
7) South Korea tolerates them and the United Nation pities them for what they have to put up with.
8) They built a 300 foot flagpole up to brag about their awesome-ness. And then North Korea built theirs 500 to outshow them. They also have P.A systems hooked up so they can shout over to North Korea all of the stuff thats happening.
9)The unites nations strongly discourages all of the stuff North Korea does but doesn't do anything about it in the end.
23) Laura went over their and made it there and back but her sister did not. Lisa was captured but Bill clinton went over to to Pyongyang and talked some sense into them

2) Kim Jong-il is the leader of North Korea. He has been ruling North Korea since 1994. He was recently elected in 2009 for the head of position. He was born in a secret military camp. Kim il Sung was his father and the first leader. (CIAFactbook)
3) North Korea was separated into two parts after world war ll in 1945. Germany had lost world war ll, Japan bombed us at Pearl Harbor. Japanese use to control Korea but they lost their control over it. This is when America and the Soviet Union took over Korea. They spilt up Korea into two. Soviet Union was in charge of the North and United States the south.

Today in class we made a circle with our desks because all discussions are better in circle form. We started talking about India and will continue our discussion tomorrow.
